Candy Rabbitt is an accomplished and versatile artist, credited with being composer, songwriter, lead vocalist, guitarist and founder of the popular local Bluegrass / Gospel group, Chesapeake Wind. She also teaches and acts as personal coach and trainer for those interested in the entertainment industry. Candy has been entertaining since the age of 6 and has delighted audiences throughout the United States. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the Classic County and Bluegrass industry. Originally from South West Florida, Candy is retired from radio broadcasting and now makes performing, teaching and ministry her full time occupation bringing entertainment to nursing and long term care facilities. "Southwest Florida is the home of my heart where I grew up and learned to love the South, its heritage and history, taught me by my family who all hail from the mountains of Tennessee."

She has written a number of songs about the Chesapeake Bay area, as well as songs about life in America both past and present. She has received recognition and personal commendation from Mayor C. Ray Nagin of New Orleans for, "Love Song For New Orleans", a song of encouragement for Katrina survivors, recorded with her band Chesapeake Wind. Candy and her most recent release, "GHOST OF A REBEL SOLDIER", written and recorded as a Father's Day tribute for her father who passed away in 2004 has been awarded four separate honors by the SHMA in the '2006' Southern Heritage Music Awards. They are Female Artist of the Year, New and Up Coming Artist of the Year (Hannah Ingram Memorial Award), Songwriter of the Year, and Single Release of the Year for the song, "Ghost of a Rebel Soldier".

Partnered with her husband, Frank, technical support and sound man both in and outside of the studio, she credits her ministry and family as the true "Joy and Triumph", in her life and reminds everyone, no matter how young or old, to, "never let go of your dreams, just keep on believing and above all, never give up"!

As well as offering top notch entertainment, Candy is also available to speak at your church or association meetings. She delivers a powerful message of hope to families and homemakers about, "common sense and surviving life in today's world."
